Japanese Mini-LPs
What's an Obi?
The 'Obi' means the 'Belt' in Japanese.
Originally, the obi is one of the essential components of traditional Japanese dress for fixing the kimono to one's body.
As for mini-LPs, it is a small slip of paper with a title and song lists printed in Japanese, inserted between a shrink-wrap and a jewel case.
Normally, an obi strip provides information about the current release.
